Baikonur Cosmodrome

Some great images from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. As I said previously, Russian rockets are great and the Russian space program is very impressive despite being poorly funded and controlled by a highly corrupt government. Did anyone here know that the Russians flew two balloons in the atmosphere of Venus? Vega Program

I've noticed this as a trend in Russian rockets to have many smaller nozzles instead of just a few big ones.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Russians had landed a space probe on Venus once, and it managed to survive about ten minutes on the surface.

Yes the Russians are the masters of Venus exploration, they even launched balloons there!

America has Mars, Russia Venus.

Thanks Michael!
